ROGER CHOUINARD | about

Roger Chouinard is a Los Angeles based artist who studied at Chouinard Art Institute.  After working at various studios, he co-founded Duck Soup Animation Company in 1972 where he worked as  designer and director on many award winning television commercials.

In addition to his animation work,  his varied career has spanned a diverse range of artistic expression from editorial illustration, writing and illustrating children's books and public sculptures.

His clients include Levi's, 7Up, Nestle, Kellogg's, Verizon and the U.S. Olympic Committee.  His editorial illustrations have been in publications that include The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, the Boston Globe,  Business Week and the Wall Street Journal.  His "Robot" collage paintings and sculptures have been exhibited in Los Angeles and Tokyo.

His awards include the New York Art Director's Gold Medal, the Communication Arts Award of Excellence and several Clios.

Every summer he travels to Japan to participate in a summer art workshop for children.

He is currently making assemblages, sculpture, collage and mixed media paintings  which often contain found objects he incorporates into his work.
